Home Found Locked Amid India’s Got Latent Controversy 🚨
Mumbai: Influencer and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has once again failed to appear before the Khar police for questioning regarding the controversial India’s Got Latent show, despite a second summons being issued. Authorities visited Allahbadia’s Versova residence on Friday after he failed to show up, only to find the house locked.
A team from the Assam Police, which is also investigating the case, accompanied the Maharashtra Cyber Police and Khar police officials to his residence. The officers pasted an official notice outside his home, instructing him to appear for questioning at the earliest. Police sources confirmed that Allahbadia’s legal team has been unreachable, adding further uncertainty to the situation.
Multiple FIRs and Summons Issued in India’s Got Latent Controversy
The controversy erupted after a viral clip from India’s Got Latent sparked outrage over alleged “insensitive and vulgar” remarks made by participants and judges. Following public backlash, separate FIRs were registered by the Assam Police and Maharashtra Cyber Police against Allahbadia, the show’s creator Samay Raina, and fellow influencers Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija, and others involved in the show.
The Khar police launched an inquiry after receiving multiple complaints, summoning the five judges, including Allahbadia and Raina. Statements from over a dozen people have already been recorded, including those from Chanchlani and Mukhija.
The Maharashtra Cyber Police has expanded the probe, issuing summons to 59 individuals, including judges, contestants, and others associated with the show. On Thursday, only Raghu Ram responded to the summons and had his statement recorded.
Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina Under Fire
As the controversy escalates, Allahbadia has issued a public apology via social media, acknowledging the “insensitive” nature of his comments. Meanwhile, Samay Raina has announced that he has removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube and has promised full cooperation with the investigation.
Raina’s legal team has stated that he is currently in the United States and will return to India by February 17 to join the probe. However, Allahbadia’s continued absence and lack of response to official summons have raised serious questions.
What’s Next?
With Allahbadia’s home found locked and his legal team remaining unresponsive, authorities may consider further legal action if he does not comply soon. Police sources indicate that more individuals involved in the show could also be questioned in the coming days.
This remains a developing story. Stay tuned for further updates. 🚨
