BCCI announces schedule for TATA IPL 2025
New Delhi, February 17, 2025 – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the 18th edition of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The much-anticipated tournament will commence on March 22, 2025, with the final set to take place on May 25, 2025.
A total of 74 matches will be played across 13 venues, featuring 12 double-header days. Afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 PM IST, while evening matches will start at 7:30 PM IST.
Opening Match: KKR vs RCB at Eden Gardens
The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the tournament opener at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on March 22, 2025.
The first double-header of the season will be on March 23, 2025, featuring Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the afternoon game, followed by a high-stakes Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) showdown in Chennai in the evening.
IPL 2025: Bigger and Better Than Ever

The first double-header day on March 23, 2025, will feature:

New Venue Allocations for Teams
For the first time, multiple teams will play at split home venues:
- Delhi Capitals (DC): Visakhapatnam & Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
- Rajasthan Royals (RR): Guwahati (hosting KKR & CSK) & Jaipur
- Punjab Kings (PBKS): New PCA Stadium, Chandigarh & Dharamsala
The Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, will host Gujarat Titans (GT) vs Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25, 2025.
IPL 2025 Playoff Venues Revealed
- Qualifier 1 & Eliminator: Hyderabad (May 20 & May 21)
- Qualifier 2: Kolkata (May 23)
- Final: Kolkata (May 25, 2025)
With high-voltage rivalries, packed stadiums, and star-studded lineups, IPL 2025 is set to thrill cricket fans like never before!
Following the conclusion of the league stage, the Playoffs will be played across Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator on May 20, 2025 and May 21, 2025 respectively. The action will then shift to Kolkata which will host the Qualifier 2 on May 23, 2025. The all-engrossing summit clash of the TATA IPL 2025 will be played on May 25, 2025.
